Paarl Mountain Day Hike
When you look from Zomerlust Guest House across Paarl Main Road you see the three huge granite outcrops that serve as the Western border of the town. (This is a National Monument and Heritage site)
We travel via the Jan Phillips Mountain Drive that winds along the mountain’s eastern slopes and offers unimpeded views of the town and the Groot Drakenstein Mountain Range to the start of our hike.
Jan Phillips was a well-known wagon builder from a wealthy family and with his financial support the municipality built the road in 1920.
